Applicability: All shipowners, operators and managers of ships over 500 Gt (except fishing vessels) and offshore units
The latest edition of the Thickness Measurement (TM) approval procedure incorporates the requirements for the TM approval of ships and now additionally offshore units, in accordance with the requirements of Lloyd’s Register Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Offshore Units.
Newly approved TM firms will now have an additional approval designation, which reflects the type of approval required (ships, offshore units, or both ships and offshore units).
This amendment will be effective from 01 August 2017.
